WEIOP MEAL SUPPORT

Your role in meal support is to enter each meal and snack prepared and with an open mind, to complete your meal or snack and do your very best to do so in a normalized way.

You are encouraged to begin practicing normalized eating immediately (ie. your first meal or snack) as this will allow your anxiety to reduce more quickly than if you continue unhelpful behaviours such as eating small bites or following other rules, which will likely only increase your distress and anxiety about food.  Staff members are present at meals to help bring awareness and help educate about disordered eating behaviours in the moment.

Staff may discuss or cue any interfering eating behaviours they may have noticed either in the moment or after the meal when there is more time to process the behaviour.

In partnership with Windsor Essex Community Health Centre – Teen Health, BANA provides a centralized intake service to residents of Windsor-Essex. Intake services are provided free of charge to all ages. By streamlining inquiries and access to treatment, this allows our team to provide continuity in care.
