Clients will learn DBT coping skills that will focus on learning and integrating new skills each week that will cover topics such as mindfulness, with goals that include reducing suffering, increasing happiness and increasing control of the mind; distress tolerance, that will teach clients how to learn to accept and enter fully into a life even when it may not be the life they want; emotion regulation, that will help clients identify and manage their emotions; and interpersonal effectiveness, where clients will learn to communicate their needs and navigate conflict in relationships.
